Running without updates

It may very well be the updates. Im just saying that we will not know for sure until the problem is fixed.

Yeah, no idea how to fix it other than run without updates.. :(

After you uninstall, set the updater to notify and not install. Install a few at a time then test. When you get the bad one, uninstall. When you get it again right click and set to hide, that will prevent if from installing or it coming to be installed again.

thing is after installing every vista update, it was about a week until i started seeing symptoms again

I don't let Windows update install updates automatically but I take care of it myself. However such a practice is not for everyone.
