I just did a full format and reinstalled Windows yesterday, so, touch wood, I should be alright if it is all true. Will still run one of these removals to be safe, though.

Conficker is basically an XP problem.

OK I have ran the Kaspersky one on both my XP and Vista systems and they both report that there are no infections. So I take it I must be safe?

Seems so.

It says on that link though that the exploit it uses to get on your system was patched last October I think, so if you got that security update, which you most likely did if you have automatic updates turned on, then it will lower the chance.
