Hello Lancelot

I for one am glad you have found someone's software that you like and use, when I replyed to your post what I was giving was my own personnal opinon because you see I won't give a name but out of all the registry cleaners out there I had one that is in the top 4 of the world and after reading and finding out some things a friend on this forum told me to watch for certain things when I uninstalled there software. When my year was up and they kept hounding me to renew starting a month before it exspired. I decided to do a uninstall and to get rid of it once and for all. But what it did to my system was uncalled for, when I uninstalled, it deleted things from my registry that it was not suppose to causing me a lot of problems with my computer and then they asked if I wanted them to fix it for a price. This was after I told them what there product did to me.

So we are not trying to offend you in any manner we are just giving our own opinons, hoping that you would do a lot more research on such a product before jumping in with both feet.

If you have any problems with your computer, all of us would love to help you until it is fixed. So if it works for you great, just know if you need help we are here for you.

Tom,

There is quite a bit in your message that I would like to reply to in the same nomenclature:-

'You see I won't give a name.'

If you have had a software program, that you purport has done so much damage to your computer, then as a responsible user surely you should name and shame the program. By doing this you will potentially help others who may purchase the same programme. The rest of your first paragraph is hearsay.

'We are not trying to offend you in any manner we are just giving our own opinions, hoping that you would do a lot more research on such a product before jumping in with both feet'.

I was not offended by any responses at all, except maybe this one. I put my head above the parapet for one reason only. I gave my opinions of two programmes. Spyzooka I condemned and waited to see if anyone would defend it which no one did, and RegZooka I said was good and was looking for someone to tell me otherwise constructively. No one said anything derogatory about the programme I praised, but stated their concerns about messing with the registry, which I fully appreciate and accept.

You however, condemned the programme with proof as well as my opinion because you think you know more than me and presumed I therefore should listen to you. It does not work like that I am afraid. You should have given the name of the programme that did the damage to your computer and stated exactly the problems you encountered, to make your response valid and a tool to be learnt from by others.

'we are just giving our own opinions, hoping that you would do a lot more research on such a product before jumping in with both feet'.

How do you know what research I did into these products? Why is giving my opinion 'jumping in with both feet' but yours is valid? As a member of this forum, my opinion is as valid as the next members. Whether it is correct or not is another thing all together, and this is the reason I put the string up. In this case no one said anything detrimental or derogatory about the programme and submitted any proof that it could cause problems. That is what I was looking for on this forum.

I think we have about exhausted this one now.

I admit that I am probably wrong here, but I did raise my concerns against Registry Cleaners slightly, as did everyone else, but I did raise my misgivings about this program in particular.

If you want one that gets rid of everything use RegVac but make sure you have an install disc first.
Best advice is don't use them to remove anything but temp files.

Hello Lancelot

I am not trying to offend you or disrespect you in anyway. By giving a name openly leaves you open for lawsuites, plus it is a rule breaker on the forum. No where did I suggest that I know more then you or anyone for that matter. I will go ahead a state that you probably do know more then I on the subject of registry cleaners, given that once bitten you don't get a second chance on MY part as far as what happened in my case. So if you feel I have insulted you in some way then I am sorry for it is not my intentions. Some poeple like cupcakes and some don't. It has been a pleasure talking to you on this subject.

I hadn't realised it was against the rules of the forum or I would not have put it up. I will re-read the rules. Everything derogatory that I have said about SpyZooka, I put in as a fomal complaint to the company. I am a lawyer and my findings had had responses from the company and they are looking my reasons for removing the software.

I fully stand by everything I have said and as it is my opinion based an unbiased view of two of their programmes I know that everything I said I can substantiate.

I like some other members of the forum have expressed their opinions and thoughts on this subject.

Some who have more experience than myself have expressed their apprehension maybe, through personal experiences, or that of being able to understand the programmes structure.

Others have erred on the side of caution in relating such softwares ability to achieve its stated purposes.

My personal take on this wonderful thread is that on the forum the many people who seek help & advice, are seeking true and honest answers, therefore we have to be very careful as to our suggestions and recommendations, based mainly, I would presume on personal experience and knowledge, freely and willingly, every day, without having the threat of possible litigation hanging over their heads.

Hence the Forum Rules.

I do not think that there are many forums where you could have had such an open and honest distribution of comments.

This is what our forefathers fought for, it's called 'Democracy"
And long may it continue.

May I end with some suitable quotations for everyone:_

We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace. ~William Ewart Gladstone

"Free speech is life itself." Salman Rushdie, 1990

And finally:-

If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

There is another forum, with an admin called admin. A little while ago, he was contacted by Uniblue, who offered him a free licence for their Registry Cleaner in the hope of gaining publicity. He was excited by the offer, and immediately imaged his hard disk and put it on a separate partition. Then he booted into it, and ran his computer for a few days. He said that he noticed no speed difference between these two partitions, not that one was really expected.

He then installed and ran the Uniblue Registry Cleaner, and blanket cleaned everything. He expected to be lucky, and not run into a major issue, but notice nothing else.

What he actually found was that his computer ran considerably faster, and some of the promises came true.

He was amazed. He didn't run it back on his main partition, and still advocates against the use of Registry Cleaners, but it was very interesting indeed. He unfortunately didn't go into much detail. My thoughts would be that this program simply removed startups which it felt unnecessary, almost certainly deleted file extensions which would cause him problems later, and removed some other stuff. He was scared of what it had done.

Nevertheless, an interesting result.

However, the testimonials of that RegZooker still ring alarm bells in my head. And that 100% guarantee!

If on pain of death I had to recommend one, it probably would be the very vicious, but legit Uniblue.
