Solved Recycle Bin Button Won't Work - Tried Everything

I just want to thank everyone for your advice. I found a download that fixed my recycle bin without reinstalling the entire OS. The "Empty the Recyle Bin" button now works. I found the fix here:

The .reg file at your link restores the default registry entries for the Recycle Bin. Normally these do not get messed up on their own. Did you use any type of registry cleaning program?

Just CCleaner. Do you approve of CCleaner?

I think the problem was malware. I have AVG 2014 (paid version) and I occasionally run scans with Superantispyware (free version (Quick scan)) and both found 0 threats on my computer. After I posted my question on this forum, I thought I would try Malwarebytes, which I used years ago, and I ran it in safe mode. It detected multiple PUP's and removed them. I am done with AVG. I still like Superantispyware for removing adware tracking cookies, but I'm going to get the paid version of Malwarebytes soon unless you recommend something better.

CCleaner is usually pretty safe.

Malwarebytes is a good choice as well.

With the Malwarebytes scan, I bet most were Optional type, not actual threats. Also, most malware re3moval folks I've chatted with say MBAM by itself is not sufficient and you need to have another AV program.

I have MBAM Pro and also use Windows Defender in Windows 8. On Windows 7 I have MBAM Pro and Microsoft Security Essentials.
