if you've lost your original recovery disks and your computer says only one copy can be made, don't believe it. just delete hpcd.sys from your hard drive (and from the restore partition). you will then be able to create another set.i need to access this partition to delete the hpcd.sys file to allow me to make a second set of recovery disks. But i cant figure out howto access it.

To find the hpcd.sys, go into the folder options and make sure "hide protected operating system files" is not checked. Also make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is enabled. Then you should be able to see the files.
You must also delete from the C: drive, if you dont you will get this error:
"this computer is not capable o f creating CDs or DVDs. Contact HP suport"
