Solved recovery disc help

i have a home built system with vista ultimate. i am trying to create recovery discs! there is no recovery manager, what r my options?

Hello Ripzx, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Since you do not have a OEM (store bought) brand computer (ex: Dell, HP, Gateway, etc.....) from looking at your system specs, you will not have a OEM recovery manager type program installed.


Instead, you can create a recovery disc from Vista to use to only repair Vista with and not be able to reinstall Vista with though.

If this is not what you meant, then please clarify.

yeah i kinda figured that:D but is it possible to create a disc (or 2) that i can load up as new with everything as i have it on my partiton so that if ever i have to reformat i can just put the discs in and load everything as is?

You can clone your hard drive.

Ghost, Ximage, Acronis... your mileage may vary

Ripzx,

Since you have Vista Ultimate, you can also create a system image of your hard drive that you can use to restore Vista back like it was when the image was created.
