Random crashes

MY computer randomly freezes every 2-3 hours when i use it. I have a gateway DX4720-03 with all the standards that come with it. i didn't ad anything nor did i take away anything. I run Vista Home Premium x64 that came with it. I play a lot of games like diablo 2 and i use msn and Mozilla Firefox. What can i do to stop these crashes? do i need more RAM? I currently have 2GB

Check your disk for errors first by opening explorer, right-clicking the drive, selecting tools, check for errors. Tick both boxes then reboot. After that type Mem into the start menu until you see an option to check the memory.

Finally run anitvirus and antimalware scans. You could also check device manager for any exclamation marks next to drivers.

You can also look at your error events.
Right click on my computer on the start menu and select manage to get there.
