PS/2 mouse not working in vista ultimate

my ps/2 mouse is not working in vista..
my system board is MSI P35neo3 (MS-7395) and i have already updated chipset drivers etc.
usb mouse is although working...
ps/2 ports have no problem with them.. i have checked in windows xp.. they are working fine there...
can anyone please help me regarding this... in the device manager it gives the error tht device cannot start.... i dnt remeber the code no of the error..

Do you have an option in the BIOS to enable PS/2 devices?

no there is no such option in bios ... and 1 more thing tht ps/2 keyboard is funtioning properly..it means ps/2 ports are enabled in bios. as a fact i m using windows xp in parallel and the same ps/2 mouse is working properly in xp .. there is problem with mouse only in vista..
