Problem with Windows Vista, please help

I have never did one as you are doing, i just have an Ubuntu on another computer all by itself. Why not just start another Thread and let someone with experience on this topic offer some advice, this is getting beyond my knowledge and as far as which Windows 7, my thinking is upgrading to 7 is what you would want to do, but, again, i am not positive what you are looking at at Best Buy, see what someone else can advise for you. Do they have better prices than Microsoft ?

is there something wrong with me picking the option that says "erase disk and install ubuntu"?
basically i'd have a computer with just ubuntu, like your emergency one.
but if i did that^, would i be able to install windows 7 later?

Yeah, you would just have to make a partition for it. I checked on upgrade advisor for Windows 7, and you would be doing an Upgrade from Vista to 7 . Not sure where your better price is tho. Seems i could get 7 prem or Ultimate for myself.
