Solved Problem with memory usage.

I am sorry I am having a hard time downloading the file disk to test. It has several and when I do what I think it says then I can not get it to open.

OK lets do the easy thing. Go to search type memory diagnostic.
That is the built in memory test, not as good, but I do not think that you have a memory problem. For now lets go with the results of that.

K I ran it but it did not give me any results. How do I get results for you?

If you did not see the results, you cant give them to me. Do the test this way

Okay I ran the memory check twice and it is not giving me the results. Where do I find the results??

Okay it says no memory errors detected. So memory is good.

Im not surprised by those findings. The only other thing is to reduce usage. I gave you a starting point in one of my earlier posts.

I will tell you what I would do if it were my computer
I would make a system restore point, first, so I could go back if I did not like the results

I would uninstall the anti spy thing
I would uninstall my anti virus
Go to seach and type the name of your anti virus and uninstall tool. Use that to uninstall.

I would replace them with
Microsoft Security Essentials
and
Malwarebytes both free

I would then go back to task manger and see how much memory is being used.

Richc46 one thing that I could see in the task manager was that the firefox application was using a lot of memory. Lets try not to use it for a while and use a different browser such as chrome or Avant.

Yes I saw that, but I thought that the spy thing was way our of line, too. Im just going one step at a time and see the results. Thanks

WOW my windows XP has the memory issues as well. I am uninstalling now Anti spyware

Okay here is the deal I uninstalled my Superanti Spyware on both computers. On my xp it uninstalled right away on my Vista it is taking for ever. How else can we uninstall it? For whatever reason the uninstall tool will not appear.

Well you say its taking forever, wait a bit longer. If you cannot uninstall, we can download Revo and use that to uninstall.

Okay it is removed. HA HA finally. Now the Vista CPU Usage is Jumpy 6%

Memory 994 usage. FYI XP usage still high
