I would like to make my laptop sleep immediately when it goes on to battery power, but under "power options"-"Edit plan settings", the minimum time I can select for it to sleep on battery is 1 minute, or so it seems.
Also, under "advanced settings" for Power Options, I have set it to sleep as the action at both low and critical levels when on battery. But the laptop still does not sleep immediately on battery .
The reason why I want it to sleep immediately on battery is because the battery is so weak that it only lasts 30 seconds max when the power mains cuts out! If I don't notice that the power lead has fallen out, the laptop crashes, I lose my work and then takes ages to reboot.
Forgive my ignorance if I'm missing something obvious, but I'm a bit of a novice with Vista
I have Vista Home Premium.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
