Please Help me. LCD is out

Hello, I don't use forums often. I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Windows Vista x64 running on it. My LCD has gone out. I had an external monitor hooked up to my laptop because I cannot afford to replace the LCD. I had to do a factory image restore because my soundcard and my wifi went out yesterday on my computer and when I did a image restore it fixed my husbands computer so I thought it would fix mine. Now that its restored I need to setup windows. However, I cannot see my screen because it wont let me switch between my LCD to my external monitor to set it up. So I have a slight predicament. Does anyone have the knowledge that they can lead me blindly step by step on how to set my computer up without me being able to see my screen at all? Via the tab and type method? I am very sorry to ask this I just need to get it to the point that i can switch between LCD and Monitor. If anyone has the time or the willingness to help me I would very greatly appreciate this. I've called dell and they do not have knowledge on how to do it step by step without me seeing whats on the screen. I also do not have access to a computer to place my hard drive there to just finish it quickly and reinstal in my own computer :( I am sorry that I've asked for someone to take so much time but I am at my wits end. I would appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thank you,
Joy

Maybe you could try plugging another keyboard (if you have one) and closing the lid. I know on some laptops (mine for example), it automatically sends the signal to the external screen.

Hello Kenna,
Have you tried "safe mode with networking", if you can you may be able to download and install the video driver.
Hope this helps, give it a go and post your results, good luck.
