Solved Pc restarting= cpu ~40 degrees

Hello, this is a late reply but my new card has arrived, THIS TIME WITH A FAN. I thought it was ok but the temps are still

65 or higher.



Please, i am getting tired of this. HELLLP

Okay, to a great look at your case... It doesn't have any direct cooling onto the gpu.

Run the comp with the side off. And try with A fan blowing on the card.

65C isn't horrible on a gpu... nvidia cuts it off at 105C.

I run my 260s at 75C 24/7 but thats full load.

Yes but i get blue screens at 65-69 degrees and my pc shuts off. There is no way i can turn that off.


EDIT: I reaplied thermal paste and it is idle at 61 doing NOTHING except the temperature monitor open. For info i use SIW (System Information for Windows.)

IT DOES EVERYTHING NOT JUST TEMPS. ANd its free.


Back to business: idle with firefox up jumps to 63. If i want to play games i cant have it leaping to 65-69 then shut off. THIS IS WHEN THE CARD IS UNDERCLOCKED TO LOWEST POSSIBLE CLOCK SPEED

Hi the idle temp is now down to 58 but now everytime i get past welcome screen i get a bsod and restarts. Another thing is my avg and firefox say they have stopped responding.



I am absolutly on the verge of blowing myself up with these BSODs.

Have you tried running a livecd?

I wonder if eithr your drives borked... Yha i read its new.

A live cd will eliminate that.

Try bumping up your Vcore a notch or 2. Can you find your VId using coretemp? Then use cpu-z to find what Your Vcore is after droop.

I'm betting you have a non gpu issue.

yeah if i raise my vcore my cpu temp goes up, also how would a live cd fix my prob. i have tried to reinstall xp my pc sooo many times trying to fix the prob.

A live cd won't fix it, but eliminate a hard drive issue.

Try raising the vcore 1 notch....

Using coretemp, the vid is the minumium volts needed.... you might be just alittle too low.

CPU 47 C
AUX 50 C
GPU 58 (idle and playing rollercoaster tycoon 2.) Hardly goes up now.

HDD temp 40C
Case Temp 38c

THE CPUs minimum temp reached was 33c

Then BLUE SCREEN: IRQL_Not_Less_Or_EQUAL

STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0000001c, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x054053D)


Anyone know what this means?

Ok so i looked at the vcore and max is 1.24 and min was 1.21. Im using the pc now, just firefox and SIW here are temps.

GPU: 56c 53 min
CPU: 34 min 38 max
SYStem: 32c
HDD: 30 40max



I might remove my Sound card and maybe change memory

You still on xp 64?

Remove the sound card...... This error is a incompadible hardware type thing.

No i use windows xp 32 after the xp x64 install said things like: blablabla could not be read from cd. Make sure you windows xp install cd is in the cd drive.


But windows xp home installs fine. Just vista, xp 64 and 7 DONT install.


AND i have removed my sound card. I have not done any games yet so i cant tell. ALL temps are not going over 60.


I might need to buy more memory.

You don't need more than 4Gigs...

Only 15% of people need more.

Sounds like a dirty drive maybe.

right now i have 1GB. The other 3 1GB's were faulty... they were 3-4 yrs old. Is this one dying too?

Ah... i just read your specs.......... Every so often new drives die....... but I bet its a hardware conflict.

it cant be dead cuz i tried in the spare mobo and works fine no blue screen. but that board is old using the 478 which is not a gaming board.


i will just have to buy new memory. the gpu is shared as well as dedicated maybe its taking up too much ram and causes the bsos.

but i cant do that now cuz i have no money till next month.

I will mark this thread as solved as the topic is not to do with temp now.
