Thats the videocard I used to have.. if your not going to do any SERIOUS gaming, than it will do you just fine. I was using the XFX XXX Judd3 edition thats OC'd to 620 Core clock.. so it was a XFX XXX 8600GT and I was actually using that to play Crysis.. on medium settings, medium still looks amazing, and it's pretty hard to see a difference now it's on High with my BFG 8800 GTS OCE. although the FPS are much higher.
so that card should for sure do you all you need, or for who your building it for. Unless they wanna play the top games that come out, and wanna play the top games all of next year, in that case get something else, I just helped my brother finish His new PC build also, and He got this Videocard.. It's Fast, works great, only takes ONE PCI slot unlike most 8800GT's. and it's Silent!
Newegg.com - XFX PVT88PYSF4 GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
this is one of the Cheapest 8800GT's on Newegg. and it's the new G92 chips.
If your not up to date on the info for Video cards let me help out. the 8600 and some older 8800's have a G80 chip on them thats big, and takes More power to run it, putting off more heat. the 8800's with 320 or 640 ram all have the G80, all the new cards with 512 have the New chip from Nvidia, the G92, it's smaller, requires less power, and runs much cooler, so this card I linked you to above, is a very very good price, as the 8800's just dropped in price. and it's very fast.. and it has the 112 stream processors. vs 32 on the 8600.. and 96 on the old 8800GT's. If I was you.. I'd spend the Little extra for this card.. and not have to worry about ungrading it again for a while.. this card will do you good for a while, at least 2 or more years, unless you wanna play the latest and greatest games. Really, Get this!
let me kno what you decide dude!! good Luck
