In another thread a few days ago I asked for advice - new desk-top or lap-top? I ordered a laptop last night.
But I want to know why my present PC (HP Pavillion, Vista Home Premium) on June 18, 2009, did something curious, or something that made me curious.
I've spent a lot of time since then in erasing semi-twin files.
I attach a screen shot of a small folder, but it did it to many many files.
You will see a group of backup files, from a couple of different dates, and each has the longgroupoflertterdssndnumbers with 6-18 as the date.
I thought I had gotten rid of all by using a search on 6-18, but some others (non-indexed?) keep showing up.
I can't say it's driving me crazy, but I'd like to know what happened.
But as long as I'm here, would it be a good idea not to transfer everything to the lap-top until W5 arrives?
Thanks all.
Another strange thing just happened: I was adding a few sentences to say the when I click the box about attachments, nothing happens -I'd been trying for three minutes. But suddenly this screen disappeared not to be found again (I made a backup of the message so-far), the Manage screen showed up.
Let's see what happens this time.)
