Hello!
I know no one has posted here in a while, but I was wondering if someone could possibly help me. I have two computers at the moment, one laptop and one desktop. My desktop runs Vista Ultimate x64 with one PNY 8800GTX, AMD Athlon x64 6000+ dual core, 4 GB ram, and a 250 gb hard drive. I have not had any issues with it at all. My laptop on the other hand is the machine that has had this issue appear. On my Dell laptop, I am running Vista Business x32, 2 GB ram, 120 gb hard drive, and a nVidia Quadro NVS 140M. This problem first occurred almost two weeks ago, but not in game. It occurred during the boot process, when the screen would just be black and the hard drive was not read from. At first, it recovered, but got progressively worse. I searched for solutions online, but did not find anything, so I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows. That fixed it for 2 days. Eventually, I was able to get the machines working again, but I had to use the integrated graphics card on the motherboard. I then downloaded only the latest driver from the Dell/nVidia website, and this issue came back again when I tried to run slightly more graphics intensive processes. I think it might be a hardware problem, but I have no idea for sure.
