Solved Not sure where to turn....

Hey all, I'm new here.

I know this isn't exactly Vista related, buy you all seem so smart here.

My question is... I have a Gateway m 6309 laptop with a SD/MMC/MS/xD slot. I try to insert my SD card from my digital camera, but it won't go in. At all. It also looks as if there is something inside the slot, blocking it. It's been that way ever since I got the computer, but I've never really found anywhere to ask this question before.

Any ideas?

I honestly have no idea whether it is or not. It was a gift, and was purchased from Best Buy, but was a floor model, since it was the only one left. Could it be possible that the store did something to the SD slot?

JMH is correct. Also, check to see if it will go in with the media turned upside down.

Gonna say something completely out of let field. sometimes they leave a blank adapter in go that you can use all types of media. could you check to see if you can eject it carefully?

How would I go about doing that? I've tried sticking my finger in there, and pressing on the piece, but even my tiny fingers are still too big. Maybe some small pointy thing that I can poke with? Like a stylus?

I was able to use a pair of tweezers to pull it out by a tiny little tab that was on the piece of plastic. I feel rather stupid for not thinking of that before, but I didn't want to break anything.

Thank you all for your advice!

My Computer

Good news & thanks for letting us know. No need to feel stupid - you only asked for help. [ It would have been stupid NOT to have asked.] ;)
Also well done to zigzag 3143 for coming up with some unusual tech advice that worked.:)
