No Windows 7 In 2009?

"The guessing game is on again. Microsoft is tight lipped about the Windows 7 release schedule which is the main reason why so many different Windows 7 release dates are floating around on the Internet. Depending on the website that you visit you find release dates for Windows 7 that range from the second quarter of 2009 to the fourth quarter of 2010. That’s more than 18 months of difference." -Windows 7 news

That article is utter rubbish, Windows 7 will hit RTM some time between July and Sept 09

Z~

I never believe anything from the WEB, all that much. It's all about click counts today, the WWW, when it first started up, I could print out every web address known. Yeah, that's right, I know I did it, took about a reem of paper LOL!! But back in the day, you could do this. Now days, it's so saturated with BS, it's pathetic, IMHO. The whole thing is about Money as is with everything in the U.S.

Write a Blog/Newsgroup Message, whatever, get paid by the sponsor , be it Intel, AMD, Nvidia ATI, or whatever. The site that comes to mind that is probably one of the absolute worst is "The Inquierer" OMG!! Those guys will type anything and puke it up on the WEB, what's worse is folks actually buy into it, Copy and paste anything they say that supports their views. Udder Rubbish. .ORG used to mean, probably a safe bet that it's fairly legit, no more. Where is the Webmaster and what's he/she do? Or they or what the F%ck?? Over. Asleep at the wheel is what.
But then it's so MASSIVE today, nobody or thing can Monitor it. When I Was a kid National Geographic was my only souse for Porn, WOW has that ever changed, OMG!! Kids today, are indoors 99% of the time, whereas in my day, it was the opposite. Kinda makes me ILL. This could be why the Obesity of Kids in the USA today is crazy High, ya think? "YO, I'm Zak and I weigh 400 lbs., and I got's Bling"

LOL!! A Crystal Ball is better than some of the Crap for news by far.

Lol.

I got the article from Microsoft, so I don't know. It makes sense to me, but I'm not a developer.

Hey on Creative Sound cards, mine won't work with Vista. I put it in, and installed drivers and it would work, but the software would say it was not detecting the Hardware... And Seven doesn't like my ASUS P5QC drivers, so I can't get my 5.1 sound to work right...

~Lordbob

OMG Lordbob & Z~

I Cringe when I visit Creative Labs website. I'm sure their drivers have come a long way, however when I tried my Audigy 5.1 Gamer Edition Card with Vista, it had a aneurysm!! But again that was some time ago when I was running Vista 32 Bit HP.
With Vista 64bit HP, I would think a total PC melt-down, my PC would FREAK!!

burning-computer2.jpg

I think I'd get a new card from them that I'm positive would work with Vista HP 64bit. Before trying that again, above PIC,.

I use Cambridge Sound Works 5.1 speakers which ROCK the house!! But they are OLD School Analog, so I'd get probably some NEW Logitec 5.1 Speakers, I like Logitec. Great Sound, Great Price. IMHO. Still 5.1's though, I think 7.1 is Ridiculous.
I have a subscription to PC Gamer Magazine, have been getting that MAG for oh 10 or more years. Anyhow, I've seen all their ADS, with the EARS everywhere, Five
Ears is Quite enough, 7 looked Insane, to me. I hate Wireless anything Except my Sennheiser Headphones, I do like those, un-believable Sound, the BEST headphones on the Planet.

These are mine here::

As far as WIN7, goes, wake me up when SP1 is ready, and I'll bite. :geek:

Well I have yet to try it on Seven, but it might work who knows.

No Beta's Here lordbob~

Maybe on an external HDD, tomorrow I have fix my Brothers PC. I built
for him, Nice rig too, not state of the art but, cool. I go through this
all the time, well that's a lie ;) This time he didn't have issue one with
his RIG for like 2 years. He's running XP Pro. 32bit. Not sure exactly what's
up with it, error message, can't find Bla Bla file. It can't see the HDD, either,
however before calling me, he took it to Best Buy, some kid their said he fixed it.

NOT.

Dude sold him some Anti virus Software, and new RAM, of which he needs,
neither. I'll have it running in a Heartbeat. This Pi$$es me off, that kid doing him wrong.

I asked him if the "Kid" showed him that it booted, and was running as it should, nope. Kid just said he fixed it sold him crap he doesn't need. Crap I might have to build a test RIG to work on his too!! Trying to explain how to trouble shoot over
the phone, was/is useless. Oh well, I'll fix it Come Hell or High Water!!

Kid @ Best Buy is gonna be hearing from me. Or my Brother, you can count on that.

Best Buy, ohhhhhhhhh. My GOD!!

Blue

Btw, Thanks for the Compliment about my Cans. Oh and his name is guess what?

BOB!! :D

Lol. Nice.

Yeah my mom took my comp into BB when it would not boot, and they said there was nothing wrong with it. The computer would not boot..... Hmmmm.....
Anyways, they thought it was fine because their software would not find anything wrong.... Yeah....

So I brought it home and fixed it in about 15 mins. Damn Geek Squad. Have you seen their pricing? $75 just to look at it. Not fix it. Look. Then another $100 min to tell you what is NOT wrong with it, and fix something that doesn't need fixing, and make the original problem worse.

Yeah, same, same, the kid ran some disk er something that checks the Hardware
I believe and it said that all was well and good. Never even Booted it into Windoze.
Just said "Yep it's fixed" The money the CREEP SQUAD charges is Insane, IMO as well. What baffles me is selling him more ram, when his app said all was good?

Shifty, I see, that's what. Scam.

Oh and BOB is my Bothers name not the "kid" @BB. ;)

Wish I was there when all this Happened, but then had I been their none of it would have happened. Oh Well $hit Happens, or so I'm told.

If you take it to the Creepy Squallers you get what you deserve since they're nothing but a rippoff to start with. "you've been scammed! lady" is the typical thought someone else has when coming along to see things done right the first time.

When 7 is finally out and someone does run into their own problems there think GS will charge any less? Maybe they should change the initials to B...

I hear you Night Hawk~

My Brother was in a Hurry, looking for the easier softer way. My whole Family are of the trusting sort. Which is not to say any of us are stupid, my Brother BOB, is highly Intelligent. Owns 2 Businesses. Does VERY well for himself. Having said that, there is one (or so) Departments he's not so smart about. One being How PC's work, Software, Hardware, the whole ball of wax, in his opinion, and I've heard this countless times, BTW. "A PC, should be like a TV, it just works!!".

They are, if you know what your doing. Sorta. :sarc: When I say I Love Vista, I mean it. Is it perfect or even close, no. Is it better than XP, yes for me, no for most. I
know it has it's flaws, design in applications, layout and Location of things, leave a bit to be desired. WIN7 will fix all these minor, set backs, what ruined Vista is Vendors and the Media, MAC, comes to mind. That and FOLKS HATE change in general. Change is a Constant though, unavoidable.

Anyhow, he's coming by today, and dropping off his RIG at my shop. What will I get out of the deal? The pleasure of spending some time with mu Brother, and a free Lunch!! :D I love the guy, I love all my Brothers. Just spending some Quality time with him is payment enough. Of course I don't think any Family member would charge $$ to Family to FIX something. That's a given.

I'm having my first Cup of Joe, right now, today well be a Good one, I feel such.

If, I have to I'll build him a NEW system, bottom line. I'll do this and it will bring me joy to help another Human, let alone, a Family Member. I come in Peace.

Wow.

Haha this thread lost its original topic....

Hey I just realized this: If you read the article, at the end it says that it is likely to come out in the fourth quarter of 2009, first of 2010. SO it may be legitimate.

There were things right off I didn't like about Vista like no more add/remove Windows components section in the add/remove programs having come up from the old dos/3.1 days and later. But it proved itself better then XP in several other ways like stability while it took SP3 for those fixes to help the older version.

7 lacks the Classic Windows theme! "oh my...! what will I do?" Grin and bear it I guess! ;)

As far as the jokers that overcharge for under service otherwise B'eek  S'quad  those guys are like a shady auto mechanic you tell to fix a startup problem involving the distributer or relay and goes ahead to charge $300 for plugs and wires instead! "better business bureau for you buddy!" They take'em as they come!

As far as the 7000 build that's been performing here almost like any other finished version after this amount of time being set intentionally as the default OS to start with. What better way to see it put through all the ropes.

I added another sata in just for a look at the Home Premium 7000s temporary until clearing that off to try out the Server 2008 beta on the same hardwares. That will end up being the designated 7 drive while XP and Vista will continue to have their own at least until the next build comes along. A month after 7000 expires wouldn't be too long a wait. :D But Q3 2009 -Q1 2010 would be the time frame likely Q1 2010 = 1/31/10.
