No OS will work

I recently posted a problem. I was told that I would need a new hard drive, but I still have issues. When I try to install vista "windows can not reinstalize the deployment engine" error. I decided to try linux and that also does not work.

I checked the windows can not reinstalize the deployment engine on microsoft. All of the references are to hard drive problems but since you just replaced yours (right?) it might be a controller problem.

Im clueless so far but I will see what I can com eup with

A new hard drive being bad is rare, so I agree, check the cable.

Well near the top part that connects to the HD it looks a little nicked. Could it be the problem?

Yes, the wires could be cut.
