Solved no option "run as admin"

Hi,

I want to run 2-3 files from winRAR as an admin but the problem is there isn't any option of that. I'm not an expert in those things so i hope you can give me enough instructions to solve this. I've read many things about winRAR that you need to open shell or if they asking you're using an administrator account. I'm using the administratoraccount and for any other thing i need to change i need good instructions.

Hope you can help. Ty

re: no option "run as admin"

Hi v3ndetta
I have no idea why you want run winrar as as administrator, would be glad if you can explain a bit farther.

When you say you are using an Administrator account, did you get it using CMD (doing somthing with the settings) or is the one that was there when you bought the PC???.

waiting for your reply, so that i can help you.

re: no option "run as admin"

Hello v3ndetta, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This may be silly, but did you extract the files from the WinRAR file first before trying "Run as administrator"?

Hope this helps,
Shawn

You would need to open the WinRAR file, then extract the files inside it to your Desktop first. You cannot run a program from inside a compressed folder like this.

re: no option "run as admin"

Yeah as brink stated you need to extract the .exe first.
Right click on the winrar and click extract here.

and regarding the administrator thing, the one you are using is not the main administrator account, Vista has another administrator which you need to activate by doing the following:

Detailed Instructions to activate the Administrator

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67567-administrator-account.html

Instead of all this, after the extract you can try to right click on the .exe and click run as administrator.

Good luck and post back the results
