Solved Network icon missing
So you are using an AMD processor?
Check your task manager and see if this is eating up CPU.
You also cannot view power options?

The reason I asked about AMD was your log...
"pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64"
Why would it state AMD64?
*Brink - isn't that strange?*

Lemur,
I do find it strange that it mentions AMD64 when the OP says they have a Intel Q9450 (same as me).
More information on the
pnidui.dll file. The kernal32.dll file is imported by this .dll, so it may be why since it is corrupted.
Lutze,
When you replaced the pnidui.dll file with a new copy, did you replace it at all locations that it is found at? Do a search for it on your entire C: drive to find all locations. You should have a few.

This shows the location of that file on my system. Note that I am writing this from Windows 7 (64-bit), so the drive location is shown as

Ahh, my aren't I foolish! Yes there are quite a few locations it seems along with some
pnidui.dll.mui files.
Do the Mui files need replacing as well? Where would i get those from?
BTW could the reason I have AMD64 folders be because I have an ATI graphics card (HD4870X2) and AMD now makes the ATi drivers?
Thanks everyone
No, the MUIs do not need to be replaced.
I do not think so since it seems to indicate a processor instead. Not sure why on that one.

Ok FIXED
D
Here's how:
1) It seems you CANNOT simply download a dll from the internet and use it to replace faulty ones. Possible due to different versions etc. I tried it it DID NOT work.
2) I solved it by searching for all incidences of pnidui.dll. Most of them were listed as 0 bytes long. those were obv corrupt but some were like 1.93 mb long. I assumed those weren't corrupt. So i copied those into all the places were the pnidui.dlls were 0 bytes.
3) restart
Now i have the icon back :D
Letzee, I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted. Thank you for posting back with your solution.
