Need some help

New Vista owner here.

Before I start begging for the heavy assistance, is there an area in here for new Vista users, that addresses what I hope are common issues?

Mine include:

• Will not begin downloads
• IE just shuts down when opening a new web page
• constently dropping cable signal (Comcast)

There are others, but I'll be back for spicifics.

My new system is a De!! Vo$io
vista home premium (how do I know if it's 32 or 64bit?)
I replaced memory with 4 gig of something
I migrated several programs from my old XP system with PCmover. That actually went pretty good.

My general computer abilities could be considered average user, far from "geek"

Point me in the right direction and I'll get to work.

Hi sad Vista guy,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

See if resetting IE7 will stop it from doing this. You will need to check with Comcast for the signal dropping to see where that problem is at.

You can tell if it's 32 bit or 64 bit Vista by opening the Start menu and right clicking on Computer and click Properties. You will see under the System section next to System type.

Consider downloading FireFox, if you still have problems. It's freeware of course.
