Need help choosing good (AMD)processor

Everlong, I've been looking around for mobo's too these days, I'm dying to upgrade my pc and I found an nforce 750i: ALTERNATE. Hardware - Software - Entertainment (sorry for the belgian site). It's MSI and if you're used to ASUS there won't be that much extra software and all that (from what I've heard), but I think it's a decent price for a 750 board.. Let me know what you choose, maybe it'll help me out too...

That looks quite good and quite a nice price.

I've been mainly looking at this is one

Scan Computers UK: EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1, NF750i SLI ForTheWin, 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 1066/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX

Though it's a bit more expensive.

And then a couple of 780i ones being the Asus Striker II or eVGA's 780i FTW model, but they're both about £30-50 more expensive, just for the third PCI-E slot really.

Well if you don't need Tri SLI, then get the 750i.

I have the 750i and I like it, but to be honest. I'd loose the second GFX card and get an intel Board, they ARE better, they are more stable, the OC better. but if your not into the Overclocking. and you really wanna run 2 GFX cards. than get the 750i. I enjoy it.. and I might SLI in the future. We will see. maybe if John sends his other 260 over.

oh and to you everlong, and also to Amplid. DO NOT GET THE MSI. the 750i is best to be got with eVGA's 750i FTW. I've heard Horror stories with the MSI, and the Asus is terrible. it's not as good as either. the eVGA is only like $30 or so more. and it's very much worth it. Here check this site out.

on the main page. look down near the bottom of the FIRST list of names. and find mine. XGUNTHERC and click on that. it will bring up some pictures of my system. the first 2, that are links, not actually pictures. but links to pictures. it shows my 750i.

either way its a pretty decent board. and I'm enjoying it. let me know what you do.

Yes I've heard them too gunther, especially about the asus, haven't done much research on the msi... Yes, I used to look at evga first, but the problem is, that it is very hard to find evga dealers in belgium... I'll do my best tho, thanks u two

Well I'll most likely get eVGA's 750i along with the Tuniq cooler for the E8400 that a few of you have recommended. Also gonna get the Coolermaster 690 Nvidia case as it look quite nice

Haha you guys just can't stop... About two months ago I told gunther I was soooo jealous of his case, because mom won't let me buy one... And now you too... AWWW!! Just, promise me one thing:D Post pics of the new build will you, I want to see it. Good luck, pall, thanks for the mobo discussion!

Yea I'll post it, been holding off posting photos of my PC until I get it all sorted, which should be the end of October (gonna save up a couple of months first) then I'll get pics taken

Ya the CM 690 is a great case, it's very cheap. and has more functions and options than most cases Twice it's price.

You even have a Logitech mouse as well :D (Have the G5 2007 edition myself)

I've been looking at the Tuniq Tower myself as well. I was going to get a Thermalright, but some had problems with the copper base not being completley flat, and could lead to increased temperatures.

I wasn't sure the Tuniq Tower would fit in a C690 case, but after looking at yours, it obviously does fit in.

As nice as the 690 case already is, can't wait to get my hands on the Nvidia edition

Yea, the Nvidia Stacker is too big and too expensive for me really, though if I had a choice of both, I'd definatley get the 690 one.

If I had money, I'd go for the Stacker and a nice desk that can fit it:D I wish they made a mid tower edition of the stacker actually... But oh well:D

ya thats pretty cool there, I almost got that side panel for mine, but I wanna make my own as that window doesn't show very much of the good stuff.

Also I see the point of getting something like an Nvidia case. but then I don't. cuz you never know who's going to come out with the better product. Like right now, more people are in ATI's favor than Nvidia. What if next year they just kill Nvidia and are the obvious choice for everyone. then you'd wanna get a ATI card and put it in your Nvidia case. Thats why I'm against those sort of brandings. but if your loyal to NV no matter what. Then get it. cuz it sure does look nice

Pffrt, I don't think I would mind putting an ATI card in an NVIDIA case (sorry to all the ATI freaks..). It's just the green that attracts me. You could do it yourself, but why if you can buy it just as easily... and I must say that I am pretty loyal to NVIDIA. Not because I think thy're better, just because I don't know ATI. Maybe I should google some...
