Need global gamma level

I need a way to set a global gamma level because when I restart my notebook it loads up the vista login screen where the gamma is way too bright. I have set my preferential gamma within the nvidia control panel, and it does change when I log in. I just want to set a global gamma level so there is no change and I can see the vista login screen better after restart.

Try changing the boot screen located here it may still work with sp2

Well, I've did all that before and it doesn't work. I'm not surprise though because I don't see what that has to do with setting a global default gamma level...
