Well if it almost hit 100, then you have a problem. It could be that your thermal paste is shot, or that your fans have ceased to function. Just out of curiosity, are you using the stock cooler? You may need to try getting a new cooler.

well I fixed the problem, the cooler was loose and then it was going good for awhile then it turned off again and then I decided to put on some new thermal paste and it dropped it some more my next purchase is a new cpu cooler, think you could recomend me one?

LGA755, for a Q6600

I am using the XIGMATEK Dark Knight... i believe it works for the 755 socket... check it out on Newegg...

i got mine for $40, and DEFINITLEY the BEST $40 i have spent... brought my temps down to low 30's at idle on my Core i7 920... stock idle temps were in the mid to low 40's...

that cooler with a smooth layer of thermal paste (I used the thermal paste that it came with, as the reveiws were saying it performs BETTER then Arctic Silver 5 among others.....

check it out!!!!

Might be something to look into for me, my cooler was cheap and I hate it. Oh well. As for recommending one, the V8 from whatever company (I forgot) is pretty good I think.... Just check them out on NewEgg.

get the one meant for the cire i7 (It is LGA775 compatible) it is cheaper then the other version $44.99 vs $39.99 for the S1283V

the S1283 is the more expensive one,...the V version is LGA775/LGA1366 compatible
