Mechwarrior 2 on Vista Home Premium?

I found my old 1995 Mechwarrior 2 game a while ago. It works on my old Windows XP computer if I run the game on Windows 95 compatibility mode, but it won't run on my newer Windows Vista computer when I do the same. Can I get any help on this?

There use to be a emulator that would let you play your older games on vista but for the life of me i forget the name of it.
