MAJOR Problem! Help!

Now I really want to know what the fix is for this myself :) Sounds like bad hardware or overheating as scrooge pointed out. I think we got all the Guru's here helping you on this one :)

Yes, to reset the BIOS, you have to remove the CMOS battery at let it sit for about 10 minutes. I would then go back into the BIOS and check that your motherboard is detecting everything it should--RAM, HDs--and is running at normal temps.

...And you've probably already checked this, but make sure all your fans are running, and all cables are connected securely.

I agree with Raj. It's sounding more and more like a bad MOBO. Have you tried a different cable for the drive to see if it may be bad?

If you have a spare MOBO laying around, you might use it as a test with your drives.

Hmmmm, quite a riddle. 'Bad motherboard' is too broad for the guessing game. So please narrow iyt down to a specific part of the mobo.

How about reflashing the BIOS. If the BIOS is corrupted somehow, it will give these kind of errors. Did you update lately or install new devices?

I guess you checked the CPU fan, Graphics and northbridge temps, in case it might be overheating :)

My Computer

Ye temps and fan is fine. And i did reflash the BIOS, that didnt help.

Im taking it to technicians tomorow, so i shall tell how they fixed it :) Im not taking a no for an answer.

My Computer

It could also be related to your powersupply. Is it a 'no name' and/or what's the number of watts and amps its capable of. If the powerfeed is defective or just does not generate the necessary watts and amps all sorts of malfunctions will/can occur.

You could try booting from a LIVE-CD and start measuring the powersupply. I can recommend downloading this one: http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

My Computer

750w thoughpower. its not a hardware issue IMO
i think the software (windows update) has screwed over the registry or something.

All will be solves in 10 hours ;)

My Computer

Ok guys: Update

Took it to tech boys, they can only do recovery console.. but i cant figure out the password.

Ive told them the passwords ive used, is there anyway it could be some random default password?

Theres no possible way i didnt give them the correct password.

Helps?

Maybe they are just entering it wrong. If not, you can just reset it.
