My Dell laptop lights in the bottom left corner were not working, so I went and i opened up my laptop and retached the lights in the middle the laptop and they work. But now my LCD screen does not turn on at all and when i turn on my laptop it stays on for a few seconds then restarts/turns off. I did the lock lights code test and got the following...

1st light (Num Lock): blinks
2nd light (Caps Lock): stays lit
3rd light (Scroll Lock): stays lit

Dell Laptop - Inspiron 1525

Whats wrong, my LCD was working before?

I'm not sure how long your support is, but it's void if you opened the display. I have not had too many happy experiences opening a notebook monitor. You are going to have to send this in for service. Try to get a free estimate first.

This happens all the time when people open up their first laptop. You probably dislodged the video connector when you reattached the little light connectors. The problem you are getting now is with your video card not seeing any monitor.

It's always best to check out a good video, there are plenty on YouTube, before you open any laptop. I was having a problem with opening up my Dell Inspiron 9400 to get at the second SODIMM slot under the keyboard, and there was a great YT video for it that solved the whole issue for me.

Check out a vid, then open it up again and check each and every connector inside the case. Some people even like to glue the connectors in place to prevent them coming loose again. Some people even do some really dumb things in there :)

Oh, and make sure the wires for any spare hard drive or wireless network card/bluetooth connectors have their little condoms on snug, I had one machine short on those and nothing we could do would fix the problem, but it booted fine with the case open. Took hours to figure out what was happening.
