Have continuously failed to install KB979910 and KB982536 with error message 800736B2. Have tried Manual Install, Install with Clean Boot, reinstallation of NET framework 3.5 and even reinstalled Windows Update Distribution Folder with directions from MS tech. No Luck. Did a SFC /SCANNOW which stopped at 46% verification: from the log it appears to be autochk.exe and the "source file in store is also corrupted" so it can't be fixed automatically.
If the installation problems are related to the scan results how do I manually fix the autochk issue?
If it's a separate issue any suggestions?
I run Trend antivirus and Malwarebytes antimalware with clean scans. My system runs 32bit Vista Home Premium SP2.
