I recently changed my color scheme in vista... and I cant switch back to normal when I goto apply it says please wait for a nano second but nothing happens! ive tried safe mode, nothing ive tried restarting.. nothing

Apply any patches to uxtheme.dll recently?
Also did you pick/try a default color scheme, or a custom one?

i did not apply anything.

nor did i change anything in anyway. it wont just go back

Hello Antihiatus,

What color scheme are you in now? If it is Windows Classic, then check to make sure that the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager Service is set as Started and Automatic.

Plus, see if refreshing the WEI score may help.

i did the basic thing. right click, personalize... and so on.

then transfer your user data.

Transferring your personal data may be trickier. There's an elegant and
automated way of having Windows do it for you (I've never tried it myself),
but I'm concerned that it might transfer the undesired color scheme as well.

For a non-power-user like myself I'd copy my personal shell folders to DVD,
then copy from the DVDs into the shell folders in the new account.

If everything checks out in the new account, then sure you can if you like.

Only to be cautious, I'd hang on to it. You can easily delete it later.
Getting it back after it's gone is another story.
