oh ok brilliant i did not thin of it that way so in that instance the recover tool would get me out of trouble if system was playng up and cld not image it i culd at least image mydat. n worst case scenario
PS: Did you get yor updates installed. Take a first image when all the updates are in and then another image once you installed the programs you usually use. Then you always have a clean fallback solution. And seperate your data from the OS into a seperate partition. No need to expose that to the ups and downs of the OS.

yes i think so well most of them. thats what i intended on doing make an image of the nice fresh install however am having some issues with sound that i should probably attempt to clear up first otherwise the image would be an image with those problems? is that right.
i have hdmi output (pc and audio) and headphone jack (audio) however i only get windows sound independently thru headphones socket. with hdmi i get no windows sounds untill i open win media player or a you tube vid (its only then that i get windows sound thru hdmi ) then as soon as i close media player no windows sounds thru hdmi
obviously the tv is capable and the hdmi lead is good as it works so the hardware is good as if it wasnt i wouldnt ever get any sound? any ideas?
really want to get this niggle sorted before going ahead with the image. (this is why i performed re-install) i thought it may help clean install with drivers etc. but it hasnt?

I think you are right. Fix the little problem first. Unfortunately that is a problem where I cannot help you. I never attached a PC to a TV - in fact I have no TV in the US. Would hate to pay money to watch commercials. I watch European TV over the internet.
In Germany I have TVs. But there I have commercial free TV and 350 channels for $20 per month.

i get what you mean i live in uk and we get far to many ads here as it is if you dont mind as soon as i get the sound issue sorted would you mind helping me again with the image i think ive got it but just in case i have the odd question or if ive forgotten anything by then would it be ok to contact you on here again?
