Solved Invisible Problems

OK, I just created a Folder, named it this character: (invisible) -- (ALT + 255)[Yup. I used the Alt symbols.]
So now that folder has no name.

Next, I changed the Folder's icon to "Blank" (Customize--> Icon --> There are four blank icons....I took one.)

So, precisely the folder is invisible now. :eek: The same worked out in windows 8.1. It showed some glitches earlier like turning the icon totally into a black square... But know it's fine.

OK. Now the funny part. I can't rename it back to something in words nor can I delete the folder. It's okay to stay but kind of annoying..

Can anyone help me out? I just want to delete it.

Open up a command prompt (windows key + r; type cmd in the window) and in the black window type in the following:
cd <path to file>
dir (to get a directory listing)
rmdir <name>

I got the directory(to my desktop) opened in CMD.
Using "RMDIR /S" I'm able to delete other folders.(I named a folder "OtherFolder" and deleted it -in the pic)

But, as I said, this folder doesn't have a name at all... So if I leave a blank space for the name and then type "/S", I get a syntax error.

To be more clear to everyone who viewed this post. It just kind of blinks when I try to delete it or when I refresh the Desktop.

----> I was able to delete the folder I've created in Windows 8.1 64bit with ease. So, does it have anything to do with vista and my PC?

Ah! Finally! I got it! I got it deleted! ~PHEW~ I just had to use this command:

ren "<alt+0160>" <new_name>

You don't have to do the renaming stuff in Windows 8. I renamed it successfully. Thank you for your time townsbg.

I'm glad you resolved it. You know doing something like that isn't a good idea. I'm sure you learned a lesson.
