Duncan, please return it as soon as possible and don't waste any more time and money on it. Then come back to post you budget and what you need a computer for such as gaming or something. We will help you to find one and if you like to built one yourself we can put up a parts list for you. Then you will be very happy and play your games. good luck.

Thanks for the message,unfortunately i have been told am past my 14days return policy and they are unwilling to accept full return of the system.
Av got lots of advice and learned one or two things now but been quoted between £50-£800 to upgrade.

Can you take a partial refund? If you take a 30% lost you are still ahead. I would take a 50% lost, if it's I because it is how much your computer would have been costed.

No matter what you do to this rig you will never be happy with if for play CoD4, Crysis, and a bunch of new games coming out. Look at my rig listed below, It costs may be 20% more then yours with monitor and all. It costs a bit more when I built it months ago. With the economy of today, your cash is very powerful on technology stuffs.

aye your system mabey cost 20% more than mine but if i upgraded mine could i not get near the specs to run the games?
av had alot of advice since joining the forum and every one has a different outlook.
my monitor is 22" also but its my system tower thats lacking, i feel with it being a demo there is alot missing hence why a want to return the thing,but my question is am still under my years warranty and would that enable me to return to store??.... can a not open the case a put a lighter in the bugger then get a refund hahaha...
joking, but hey you wouldnt like to buy a bmw m3 then find out its got a scoda engine!....

Before I built this system, I had a HP with similar equipped as yours. I put a bunch money in it and it didn't get much better. The rig I got now is 10 times better then the HP with all the upgrades and it is merely a mediocre set up comparing to those hard core gamers. At this point I don't think I am going to upgrade for a long time. I insisted that you should get a different rig because I believe, form reading your posts, you are ready for playing some games. It is really up to you. cheers.

Since I am currently in the UK I have some idea of what is currently on the market.

I don't want to make you feel bad, but this is the kind of thing you can get for £500 + p&p

Unless the machine you bought is damaged, i.e. not fit for it's purpose, or was not as described, I'm afraid the shop does not have to take it back.

bruce2 suggestion is one you might consider - you might ask the shop if they would take it back, subject to a "restocking fee".

If it was me - and you must make your own decision, that is what I would do. I would first suggest a "restocking fee " of £50 - even if they insist on £100 , I would still get £449 back - enough to put together a pretty good system using the advice of the guys here.

I paid about £100 less than you for my rig, I have a Foxconn motherboard as well, but the specs for mine are a lot better than yours for the price and because I bought mine through my mail order catalogue the price tends to be higher than it would be from a shop or the manufacturer.

thanks for all the advice folks but i am looking and in thr process of complaining as the system was oviously sold to ourselves not fit for the purpose we were intending to use it for.
joan archer,yea av had a look on big pockets.com and there is some better kits cheaper and well more advanced,if a get a refund al put more to it and get a better one.

hi,yea i seen there ad when i was looking for a dvd cover,some of there stuff is well priced.
sadly i have no pc as when returned to store they kept it and promiced a full refund.unfortunately we were to return for refund but guy lied to get us out the store now they have my pc and money.
ive taken it further though and wel see what happens.
