i want to hog the internet connection

Ok this may be a waste of time , im not sure it can be done and as i dont even know exactly what it is i want to do i cant google it!!

Ill try and explain , we have a bt homehub router , two pc's connect wirelessly , the wifes laptop and my gaming rig , we live practically nextdoor to the exchange and sync up at 8192kb/s my ip profile is 7000kb/s so i know my connection is sound.

she is a facebook fiend and when she is browsing pictures i lag out ingame regulaly , its getting to the point where i cant game if she is on the laptop its like being on a piece of elastic ingame

is there any way i can make my pc hog the lions share of the banwidth? Or is it just a case of it being split equally? even if it means me connecting to the router with an ethernet cable i can do that.

Im assuming it cant be done but theres no harm in askng

I haven't used it, but perhaps try something like Netlimiter:

NetLimiter - The Ultimate Bandwidth Shaper

There may be better apps out there, but what you want is doable

Afetr 39 years ive gotten quite attached to my testicles , i wouldnt want them dissapearing whilst i slept

ive worked it out :D set the download limit for inetrnet explorer on the laptop to 1mb/s , i dont think she'll even notice
