I have huge problems!!!

Going back to your first post, you say you deleted the flash players, how did you delete them, do you mean you un-installed them with the adobe un-installer or did you un-install them through control panel, or did you just delete the files themselves ?.

Have you tried this.

View attachment uninstall_flash_player.exe

File has been scanned and is clean.

After saving the file, take care to quit all applications (especially browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer, IM software like Yahoo / MSN / AOL).
You will need to restart the PC for this to take effect.

Also, what browser are you using, have you upgraded to IE8 ?, if not then do that.
Are all the Vista updates installed, including service packs 1 & 2 ?.

Give this a go, good luck and post your results.

YOu know what. I am going to have a tech person take this vista stuff off. Take everything off. Put Flash on first! Then everything on ontop of it. I think this will work. I am going back to XP.

Richard,

I tried the revo uninstaller 2 times and it still is not working. I swear this is a driver issue. The reason why I say this is because when I tried to install Captivate on Vista, elearning the SAME thing happened.

I've downloaded other programs, including revo and they work! But when I download Adobe Flash 10, even the exe version, the program is downloaded to the machine/desktop, via Firefox (NOT IE- it won't work - the installer denies the app), I can execute/install the program- it opens up, but it does NOT work!

How do I know? I go to a flash supported site and nothing, nothing pops up. Nothing works!

Its a communication problem - it just has to be and there has to be a patch made.
I gave the computer to the big tech guy at the University. And even he saw what I was talking about.

He's never seen it. He tried to solve and couldn't either.

So what now, Rick?

I feel like handing off this machine to you so you can witness the problem first hand! I might even have to you tube this for you. Oh, right I can't!

I can't even use my captivate, or jing, or anything else, because I can't do the flash which everything runs on because I've got Vista!

I would reboot the whole thing, but then I am back to square negative 100, because of the issues with Captivate and vista. It was a nightmare!

Listen...remember. I've got limited brain cells. I am not a tech guru. Just someone who walked off the street, called up DELL, got a XPS M1530, paid $1500 for a machine, then bought Adobe elearning for another large amount, and Vista, and even though I read the comments, I ignored them, and now I can't even download/execute whatever....just make any Flash version, 8, 9, 10, work! Nothing works and I am in this black hole and it is just ridiculous!

As you can see I am a little bit peeved because I really feel like JOB, from the bible now.

I mean this is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi try this>>>click start>>run>>Type>> C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\.
Right-click on the following file: FlashUtil10e
Select "Run as Administrator" and install the update..
Restart your computer.

If that don't work just keep doing system restore till flash works again.
;)

Have you tried hitting your PC with a hammer?

By the way I am trying to make you laugh, I know PC's can be terribly frustrating at times.

Dont get frustrated. I have had worse problems. One time, my GRUB somehow broke itself, and teh bios couldnt hand off control to the hard drive. So i had to atempt to boot into ubuntu using the command line (after many hours of searching how to do this). Then i tried many fixes which none of them worked. So someone told me i had to just simply manually delete GRUB, and manually reinstall it from the Terminal again! Well it was very frustrtating to me you see, you get kinda scared when your BIOS cant hand off control to the hard drive and this is the only computer you have and you cant get a new one because of monye issues.

Have you tried searching on google?

Try to use flash on another computer while your currrent one is getting fixed.

maybe your pc needs to take a dump. <-- pun

check in teh c:windows\toilet and look for teh minidump files. lololololololololololololololololOLOLOLOLOLOLoLOLoLoLoLOlOlOlolOloLoLOlOlOloLOLolol

sometimes windows takes big dumps but taths wen something is very wrong, like teh divide by zero bs0d error. the earth ends when divide by zero bsod error occurs and teh minidump is disrupted by dividing by zero while maiking teh minidump.

why do nerds/geeks/mathematicians confuse haloween and christmas?

because

31 OCT = 25 DEC

OCT = octadecimal

DEC = decimal 31

octadeicmal = 25 decimal

go convert it on a calculator if u dont get it.
