I have had enough!

I have tried and tried to like Vista, but I am sick of spending all my available time just making things right all the time. When I think I have solved one problem then along comes another.

I can't actually see what benefit that Vista is going to give me, even the text looks fuzzy compared to XP.

Is it worth waiting for SP2, will it arrive???

Really once your problems are gone with Vista, like mine are gone, you will love it! At one time my Vista wouldn't even boot up but i got some help and the Moderators and other people on this site led me the right way

Well, where do I begin...

Firstly

Apache2triad (my testing servers) although I have now installed it still has to be manually started if you wish to keep the UAC protection. Skype also has to be shutdown.

Acrobat 7 will not work so I cannot create PDF's or create a PDF printer driver.

Outlook 2003 holds all my contacts but the Vista address book does not pick these up (as in XP)

Macromedia Suite seems to have a whole host of problems, too many niggles to list.

I am constantly told I do not have access to certain files even though I am admin and after turnig the UAC off.

The text in applications such as word etc just looks fuzzy.

Bioshock kept crashing because of problems with the 8800 GTS card.

My system was

Vista Home Premium 64 bit

Intel Quad 6600
GA-G31 MX-S2 board
Nvidia 8800 GTS
Samsung 2232BW

Alright a lot of common issues, but kind of weird, because most of us are running those same problems without any issues..definitely the Skype has been an unknown problem...yes you'll have to face the problem that vista doesn't pick up your contacts, but the Adobe...Really Strange...Try updating it

Skype for some reason stops your apache server from starting, so you have to shut it down and then start it back up after the apache server is running.
I have Acrobat 7 and when I go to update it it comes up with an error and cancels the update!!

I have now gone back to XP and have just about finished getting the PC running with everything back to problem free. I wanted Vista to work but I can't justify the time to babysit it. If your productive time earnt you £40 an hour plus would you be happy wasting 3 to 4 hours trying to figure out work arounds?

You simply lack the knowledge to properly install Vista in the first place. I have Vista running on 10 different rigs and all are running just fine. Read a manual and try different orders of installing your apps. But dont blame the OS, its always operator error.

I don't want the understanding!!!!

When I purchase an operating system I expect it to work! I could if I wanted to waste time piddling about get things to work, but why should I???

I will wait until most of the bugs are fixed before I upgrade, once again Microsoft use the general public to act as unpaid beta testers with no thought to the headaches they create.....

I am glad your rigs work, as for most I think its a long way off.

You are better off simply taking your system to a service center and allow them to set it up for you. Then when you get it back everything will work and all your problems would be solved.

lol...

They had even less of an idea of what to do than I did, don't confuse me with someone who does not know what to do. My point is I don't have time to waste doing it, so I am now back with XP and all guns blasting.
