Hi, I have a Gateway Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. Here's the problem.. I turn it on, it show's me the Gateway Logo and whatnot, then just goes to a grey screen, then restarts itself. I think I probably screwed it up by getting pissed and hitting the computer, im not sure. Do I need to find a Vista disk and reinstall? or just buy a new one?

If you literally (and not figuratively) assaulted your computer  you may want to run a bootable diagnostic on your computer. Otherwise, there are so many possibilities. Did it run fine, then suddenly bomb? Did you install something off the Internet? Did you have a power failure or surge? Can you boot into safe mode by pressing F8?

If you can't get to safe mode AND if your diagnostics run fine, then you may have to install your OS. If you cannot run diagnostics, it might be a hardware problem? Is your PC still under warranty?
