How Do I Make "Stretch" the default in Vista

Every time I change a desktop wallpaper , I have to go in and change the size . I have a wide screen monitor and prefer the" Stretch ", but every time I have to always go back and set it to stretch again if I change the wallpaper. Default is obviously Center as this is what it always goes back to.

So , I want to know how I can make 'Stretch" the default so that I don't have to go in every time I change a wallpaper and recheck the " Stretch Box. "

I have Vista Home Premium 64 Bit

Thanks , I tried it and it still will not set it to Stretch as default. Stll goes back to center and I have to still go in and check the Stretch box

Under Polices >desktop and then to the right side it says No Change Wallpaper . Could this be the reason why it did not work for me ?

I don't have a Desktop key under Policies on my Vista.

Hi Jillian,

I tried this link on my vista Home Basic & it worked, hope you have the same luck.
Slightly different picture options from yours maybe.
Went into browse my options were -Fit to screen>Tile>Center

Presuming 'Fit to Screen' = Stretch. Chose that & was ok.
Prior to the above operation I checked monitor & display settings.

How do I adjust the Windows background?

I meant to say ActiveDesktop . Under POLICIES , it says ActiveDesktop and Ext. Click Ext and it says Default on the right side. Click ActiveDesktop and it says No Wallpaper Change on the right side.

Thanks everyone. This does not work for me. Don't know how to get picture position to a Default Stretch.

I got it to work. I redid it all over again and then rebooted my computer. I don't know why it did not work the first time as it was the same. But anyway , it works now and I would like to thank you for that tip.:D

Okay. Now it won't set any picture as desktop.

Final post on this subject. Well it worked at first and then it did not work. Could not change the desktop wallpaper without rebooting computer every time. So , I am just going to restore the computer and forget it. I will just need to go in every time and check the Stretch. Again thanks.
