How do I do a system restore to an earlier date?

I started having a problem with my computer freezing up about 5 days ago, I did a scan, no problem, my memory is fine, only using about 60%. Then I went to do a system restore, but the problem is there is no restore dates in my system before, so I cant put it back to an earlier date, and the info that is showing does not say how to restore it from the day that I am trying to restore it, HELP!!!!!!! My computer is a compaq, 32 bit, 160 gig, 1.5 gig ram, and I am using Panda virus system

The information below is on how to do a system restore for Vista. If you do not have a restore date, you are not going to be able to restore to an earlier date.

You may want to check your event viewer to see if any errors are recorded.

whydont you try to fix it first?

if you dinf out what is causing it you can probably fix it. have you ever had a true blue screen (the kind where the screen turns blue and it says stop folled by numbers?

If not you can go into event viewer (type event viewer in search) and go to the windows log?application tab. Is there errors there (lines with red signs on them)? if there are could you use the snipping tool (type snip in search) to take a screenshot of them and upload them to us?

If you have System Restore disabled you won't have any restore dates listed.
You will need to enable it.
