I have a BENQ laptop with vista home premium I am thinking of rebooting as it was attacked a little while ago and it not functioning well. What I dont know is how to save what I want to keep and also how to initiate reboot as I,m new to the whole computer thing and am learning as I go.

Hello Shaun,
When you say "reboot" do you mean a clean re-install of Vista ?.
What problems are you getting with your PC, also could you give us some system specs, thanks.

1. For saving your files, you need an external device like a bigger USB stick or an external disk that attaches via USB. Those items can be reasonably purchased for $20 to $60. Once you have such a device, you can just copy everything you want to keep to that device. But keep only your own stuff, no system items.
2. For reinstalling the system, you best look into the little booklet that came with the PC. I am pretty sure that it is explained there. The procedure is somewhat different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Unfortunately I do not have the benq procedure.

G'day sean, always good to see another aussie on the forum.

Now I know that you dont have your vista disc, so doing a "reboot" of the system isnt really a good idea right now.

what I think you should do is uninstall malwarebytes and reinstall it using the "use free version" or evaluation version. Or PM me and I'll sort it out with you over the phone or something

If you actually read the the info, you would see that they are free to download and free to use, you DON'T have to register anything or pay for anything full stop.
I don't know how to make it any easier for you to understand, THEY ARE FREE.
