Oh and Fumz, back on page one you referred me to a thread on Overclockers.net about OC'n QX and Quads and it was one that I've not read before. I'm only been told what to do, or try this. or try this. and read this. But that quide was one of the BEST I've read. (Not read to many tho) But it was not to long, not to short, very very informative and he hit only what was needed. and did it well.

Thats probably the best Overclocking Guide I've Read so far and It's FOR sure helped me. His simple guides and info on a Q6600 oc'n helped me the most. as I changed my Multi to 9 just like the 6600. and even tho I haev a Q6700, it's close and I used his same guide for an average V amount for what speed and etc.. and for the NB. and I've now got Prime running. Been going for over an hour. at 3.5 GHz with NO ERRORS. I've yet to have that happen. Til now.

He Hit the important things and the very important things perfectly. and even gave good idea's as in Loggin what you change, and do ONE at a time. and write down, compare, and once stable. Lower til you crash. then up it a notch. so your stable at lowest Volts possible. Thanks for actually giving me some good advice and a good read. It's helpin so far, and I'm happy this is lookin to be stable. (Possibly)

One more question. I know that people don't usually mess with the GTLVREF settings as they are for Each Core. 0,1,2,3 and they all have there own number that can be changed. Mine are all set to Auto. and all say +0.00
but one. Core 1 so the second one down says +110mv and the rest are at 00mv, What is this, and why would that be so much different?? Do you know.

I'm not planning on changing them. I was just concerned cuz all are set to AUTO
yet one is at +110 and all the rest are at +0. thats a big difference for one Core..

oh and Prime ran at 3.5 Ghz with Core set to 1.45v and FSB at 1.40, with NB up .5 and Ram at 2.1 and It ran fine for over an hour and 20 minutes. then core 3. (Last Core) or 4 some call it. failed. same one that always does.. but the rest kept on going for another while. I stopped it at 3 Hrs with No errors and no warning but that one rounding error on the last core. Damn, thought I had it. But NO!!!

Well Fumz, you thought you got rid of me but I'm still here and I have new questions.

So, I've gotten a little closer. I learned about the GTLREF settings and I learned a lot.. I've adjusted them slightly on my board. and I'm now able to Run 3.5 GHz and Prime stable for over 3 hours.. but the last 2 times I've ran it, that same core 3 fails sometime up after over 3 hours. So I was all exited it was stable.. then BOOM. I hate that. so do i need to be solid for over 3 hours?

Also, I just realised that C1E was never disabled. and when I've been usin CPU-Z it only gets to my set speed when I open a few things or what not. then take a screenshot. I always wondered how others got it so easily. lol. when I first started OC'n i was told to disable speedstep. so thats what I did. but I left C1E on..

Is it possible that all this time C1E is what was makin my Fail Prime??
I've now disabled that and I'm runnin solid ........... entire time at 3.5 GHz
I'm about to try another run at prime and see how it goes.
what ya think? would that matter

It's possible that C1E is holding you back? I'm not familiar with the 750i's bios or how well they OC, but at least on previous nforce chipsets, like the nforce 3 and 4 that cpu throttling was disabled in order to reach higher clocks. This may or may not be relevant anymore, but you could always try. In what little reading I've done on your board and clocking, I don't see where anyone has reported that throttling has been an issue? If it were, the hardcore clocking boards would have it disabled by default in the bios, and that doesn't seem to be the case?

Again though, Conroe quads, short of phase or some other dramatic cooling max out at the 3.4GHz-3.6GHz range. Sure, some guys are really really lucky and go higher, but that's rare. It just may be you've done all you can do?

ya thats what I'm thinkin.. There's lots of people that I've seen that are at 3.6 and a few at 3.7 and my friend I game with from AU has his Q6700 at 3.8 GHz on air. but I think he's a lucky one. I'm at 3.44 GHz right now. so above 3.4 and not 3.5 I think 3.44 is a good compromise. I just did the Pencil mod cuz I've talked to a few people that said these nforce boards get much much more stable on there OC's with the Pencil mod becuase how bad vdroop is on these Quads. Like I'm set at 1.45 in BIOS and I get a reading of 1.416 in CPU-Z and then at full load it drops to 1.392. Thats a LOT of vdroop. and when OC'n you need more voltage. not less. so now it's at the same setting of 1.45 in BIOS. and in CPU-Z it reads 1.416 and when i get under full load it only drops to 1.408 now instead. Much better, much lower droop. so under load the CPU is gettin more power and will get stable. Or thats what I've heard. I'll let ya know how that turns out.. lol. but I'm going to probably leave it Around 3.4 GHz and be happy. Maybe the ocassional 3.6 for a bench here and there. but not 24/7
