Help is it a virus

Hi Sid, can't see one with any relation to Zip in the title, feel a bit out of my depth as I never heard of a zip companion, how do I locate it?

Well, it is on your hijackthis log: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinZip E-Mail Companion OEAPI] "C:\Program Files\WinZip E-Mail Companion\loadwzco.exe"
It is part of winzip softwae if optionally selected i guess.
So, try to find it in the running services.
Click Start, in the search bar type in: services.msc then press Enter.
Find the zip companion in the list, stop it if it runs and disable it.
Reboot and Check.

ok think i cracked it. One thing though, would the original problem with the username and password be effecting the other computer on the lan because of the winzip problem on my pc?

I don't think so.
Has the window requiring user infos stopped popping.

yes, on the other its still popping up. Worth noting that mine appeared to stop doing it yesterday before we started going on all this stuff. As quickly as it arrived it stopped, I'll monitor the other PC and see what happens. Thanks for all your help, not sure what I can do in return as a thanks, I do good vector drawings on Illustraitor if that's any use?

Thanks for your feedback and your "offer" but i am just glad to help and make Vista a bit more understandable.
On the other hand, i am sure that keeping a forum like this one (i am just a member like you) cost hell of a lot of money just to help and for people who can afford it, a "donation" should be welcome
