Dear Vistax64 members
I purchased a JNC USB-350 Voice Recorder and recently I used it to make a recording of an Australian Senator's speech
. I am responsible for trying to get the recording off the device...now here's the problem!!
JNC (the manufacturers) don't seem to offer any driver updates on their website and contacting their support team has gotten me nowhere.
The problem is that the recorder connected successfully to XP but it seems to have no end of trouble with Vista. I am running Vista Home Premiuim 32bit and when I installed PowerVoice II which is the software for the recorder, there were no problems. However, getting the Vista OS to SEE and communicate with the recorder IS the problem.

I tried getting an updated driver from another site - but it also seems to have problems. The recorder seems to use CenixFMC.inf and CenixFMC.sys as its driver source. When Vista tries to install the recorder it comes up with the following error: "The required line was not found in the INF"
When I tried to install the driver by right-clicking the INF file, I got another error stating: "The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation."
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know out there in Vista64 land where I can find VISTA drivers for the JNC USB-350 model. So far their web site has been unhelpful and after 3 days I still have no response from their technical support people.
2. Does anyone know why Vista can't accept this model of voice recorder and why I can't install the driver with a right-click action.
I don't know what to do because I cannot lose this file but Vista just doesn't seem to want to know (or recognise) about the recorder or communicate between PowerVoice II and the recorder. Why did XP work so NICELY with this recorder but Vista is having hissy fits?!
I have tried the alternative line out option but the quality is appalling. Buying a new recording device is not an option at present.
