Help!!!!!!!! Factory restore on windows vista will not work!!

Okay so I am trying to do a factory restore on a HP Windows Vista Laptop I got from my uncle and I am trying to get every program that was installed and everything else out of the computer so basically do a factory restore. I tried from the computer by going into the Recovery Manager, didn't work. Tried pressing F11 but doing that made the computer screen go black everything I try again....

The first time I pressed F11 the charging plug came out (someone tripped over it) and it turned off the laptop so I tried again with F11 and it did not work. It just made my screen black now


What did I do wrong and how can I get this working again?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

So what exactly is the status of your machine now? If you just let it boot normally, does it boot up? Is it only when you hit F11 that you get the black screen?

What is the full model number of your HP laptop?

Perhaps you should try F5 to acess the options.
