My first post, hi all.
I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit on a ASSUS P5B Board and i have used ASUS Utilities many times to successfully flash my bios.
Every day there seems to be more support for 64Bits applications. So far I have not had any problems using my old XP programmes, running burning applications, ITunes, Dreamweaver and a whole other plethora of daily applications
It is slower but I guess that because it consuming more RAM and air's on the side of security, not to mention some stupid needless mind boggling slow processes,, like half a day to move file from one place to another while it calculates the tea in china.
Anyway I digress, personally I don't expect the SP1 to do much for performance, just get rid of our niggles.
I believethat it is not fully Vista's fault that software doesn't work, software companies have to verify their drivers for the 64 bit OS, its a security advantages but impacts heavily on their turnaround time in making suitable drivers.
Compared to XP Pro Vista 64 is a good OS, It's slow and is the first real Jump to shake up the industry that 64 bits are here to stay. (Im not forgetting XP 64, but no one took it seriously, even microsoft)
As drivers become more available the speed of the OS will improve.
Just some of my thoughts.
