WOW SOMEBODY IS PARANOID JUST A LITTLE BIT!
Sorry but i have reinstalled many OS's on many different machines and never had an issue.[/QUOTE]
well Bud me too!. I like you, build my own
I do not have no problems at all with the machines i build. nor do i with DEll machines the original gateways before hp took over and compacts did come with Oem os disks so yea was not a Problem till i puchased this hp. Which i have stayed away from since the 90's. But the laptop deal was to good to pass due to the hardware spec's of the laptop!. Actually the plan was to remove all the junk and use a generic operating system. but to my surprise the Bios was not a true bio's it had been locked to HP software and trialware and surpisingly the bio's communicates to hp through the software from the restore partition, this in of it's self should set of alarms who owns the hardware?. Do I or HP?.
Now we know you cannot buy software it is leased. this is where you really have to think buy law you cannot steal what you cannot buy!. Thus came DRM laws.this is why folks are being sued under copyright laws!. And not by criminal statues. This being said makes it too expensive to sue everyone or those that download. So comes palidan the hardware And software protection Initiative.
And again it does give you some since of protection. It does stop the script kiddies where most of the nasty's are comming from but will not stop Professional adware, spammers and the like from doing what they want!. A true hacker will in fact get in and do their damage!,As long as you are connected to the Public internet. Redmond & the Government can't stop it why do you think you can?.
But for some reason you and the others can not grasp this because it does not affect you today! Remember i am talking hardware and HP is a trend setter.
