well thats the thing as the GECK software is essentially a level editor for a really huge world you can do whatever you want to with it. there aren't really many boundaries for example it would be possible to rescript the ending of the game so that the enclave carried out a dictatorship or maybe even aliens taking over the world or maybe going hellgate london way and pretending that the water purification system thing actually opened up a gate way to hell with demon spawn infesting the world. whatever floats your boat or more aptly whatever irradiates your radiation poisoning.

No worries good luck with that btw. It's an absolutely great game and just as fun with a few nick-nacks created by yourself. I always had a thing for making a washing machine and placing it outside vault 101 and filling it with loads of random goodies along with a makeshift item "The Idiot's Guide to Power Armor" book which scripted allows you to wear power armour way ahead of time.

Lol, nice:D
BTW i've begun playing Oblivion again, that construction kit you mentioned, would it be possible to use it to make a ring, amour whatever, that would remove a vampires voulnerability to sunlight? i mean, there must be some varable or something that goes:
DieFromSunLight = 1 (true)?
That would be real neat:D

I always found it anoying that there is no succh thing in oblivion, i mean HELLO you cant handle daylight? wear a plastic bag?:)

The easiest way I can think of would be to create a new magic effect to counter Sun Damage like there is frost damage and resist frost would be a case of creating Resist Sun. Then it would be a simple case of creating and enchantment to give 100 magnitude of resist sun to the player.

Okay, thanks :) i found out some one all ready did, however, i would prefer to make it my self:D but wouldn't have to do alot of grafix work? i mean, isn't it sort of difficult to make these things? like the washing machine you mentioned, how do you determine how it looks and where it is?

Im sorry if im asking too much:) i should proberly just find a tutorial, but im currently trying to find my way around the WinApi, so im pretty fed up with loooong useless tuts:/

Well the washing machine is a base container in fallout 3 so essentially all i did was create a generic one then used mouse and keyboard to move and rotate to the desired location then double click the item and editted it. IF YOU EDIT AN ITEM THIS WAY MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE ITS ITEM CODE. I always add 'aaa' to the beginning of the iteem code and then give it a new name in this case 'Mysterious Washing Machine' And then just drag the items you want in the washing machine to the list on the right. Save it and play it and you'll exit vault 101 and stumble upon a washing machine full o guns or whatever. you could also use items like the enclave suoply create and have it angled on the floor as if the enclave had passed through and left it.

As it would take so much space to detail the full usages of GECK I've added this link Main Page. - GECK

To answer your question yes the GECK is pretty much the same as TES Construction Set. Which in turn is a more advanced version of the Morrowind TES Construction Set. You still need to set the ESM data file to load which is done from the file menu.

Did you use download the Oblivion Construction Set (TES:CS) or are you trying to load the oblivion.esm into the GECK? As the GECK won't load the oblivion.esm as it is re-configured from the TES:CS for the graphical advancements you can download the TES:CS from the oblivion website.

When you open the TES:CS I'm guessing you click file and then open data and select the oblivion.esm from directory. When you click ok/open does the TES:CS go back to the main screen? are there any changes in the text on the status bar at the bottom? Usually even in vista the TES:CS takes about a minute to fully load the master esm file however the TES:CS should show you it is doing this by displaying what is currently being loaded.

My Computer

I asume you are using windows?:)
its in the control panel, if you are in vista or win7 just open the control panel and make a search for "device" one of the results vil be the device manager,

In Xp just follow these instructions,

  1. From the Start menu, select My Computer. Alternatively, double-click My Computer on the desktop.
  2. Under "System Tasks", click View system information.
  3. In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
And remember; google is your friend;) Let me google that for you
