That's not good at all, you're missing three critical components of Windows!

Searching for "taskkill.exe"
No files found.

Searching for "tasklist.exe"
No files found.

Searching for "taskmgr.exe"
No files found.

Have you got a Vista disc to hand Bill? Seeing as there aren't any local copies of these files, we'll have to do a repair install (like Rich was proposing!).

Have you ever had any problems with malware? It seems strange that every copy of these files has just disappeared - usually there's a few backup copies in various subdirectories of system32.

Hi Tom
No, unfortunately no disc came with my laptop.
I'm unaware of ever having any malware problems in the past.

I'm not sure I'd even be up to doing a re-installation so I'm going to put it into my local pc repair shop and see what they say.

I'd like to thank both you and Richard for your time, advice and patience in this matter.

The route I'm now taking is by no means any refection on you guys as I'm certain you'd be able to guild me through it, it's as I mentioned earlier, to do with my capabilities.
