Solved Error 80070002 on Vista

My Computer

One cause of 80070002 I've just found is Firefox inserting a registry entry here, believe it or not.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\M¡crosoft\W¡ndows\CurrentVers¡on\Internet Settings\User AgentXPost Platform

Now, as I understand it, such errors are related to MSupdate, now essentially obsolete for Vista updwards, superceded by Windows Update. Indeed, MSUpdate now gives a page referring me to Windows Update (having discovered this apparent bug, just reported to MS). (Credit to another forum's post for pointing me to that, indirectly).

So why did I run into MSUpdate and this bug? Because Vista Problem reports and solutions opened it. Hmm. What? But it's been superceded... ah, well, uh... I guess you see where I'm heading.
