Your not going to believe this but, during my time as a London cab driver I met the MD's secretary of Coka cola UK.On the day in question I was given a large pack of free cokes from Coca. Whilst driving this lady home I pointed out that the coke in the can was not as nice as the coke in the bottle. This was 1986 when cans had swamped the drinks industry. She asked me why I thought that, to which I replied the original coke mix in a bottle has a finer taste to what they put in a can. She said she would take this up with the MD.
Two years later coke bottles were back on the shelves but at a higher price! This didn't go down very well so they decided to bring out coke classic to try and get the original taste back in a can. This has been a failure of Coca cola's and since the mid 1980s around the time when I made the complaint, they have seen dwindling sales.
Coca cola doesn't taste anything like the original 1970s taste and never will until they repackage in the old bottle form with the original mixture.

I suppose you could say 'I can blame you for this horrible Coca cola Classic in a can!'

The difference is that the new Cokes have high fructose corn syrup, and the previous version had cane sugar in it.

I am old enough to remember the 5 cent Coke Cola bottles as all there was available. When 'King Size' Coke Cola came out, the bottle went up to 10 fluid ounces. They only increased the amount of carbonated water, the amount of syrup stayed the same. The 5 cent bottle soda was 'strong enough' you couldn't see through the bottle; however, you could see through the King Size bottle due to the jump in water content. The King Size was 10 cents. So you were paying 5 cents more for water only.

Then later on the cans came out. At 12 fluid ounces. And cost 25 cents. A big jump in price, for 2 more fluid ounces of water.

I can't really stand Coke, any kind.

I'm not big on the "fizz" drinks. If I wanted to drink anything that is like foam, i'd flip over a can of Barbasol shaving cream and point it at my mouth and pull the trigger.

Now....BEER on the other hand..............:D

I try to limit drinking coke, or any pop, by just having it on the holidays, or parties, although I used to drink it every day, I've stoped now for a while.

Me too. You know coke is okay when you're having a hypo though right? But after a while, real coke tastes foul anyway

!!!!! I don't feel so sad anymore :D Diet Coke does not as much sugar as normal Coke That is just cool knowing someone who knows a lot about computers has the same infection/disease as someone who knows a fair bit for their age!
